Conveth, Conevethe, n. Also: cuneveth(e, -veht, kuneveth, conveiff. [Old Irish connmedh, mod. coinmheadh, entertainment, billeting, whence also older Eng. (15–17th c.) coynee, coynye.] Entertainment due by a vassal or tenant to a superior.The exact extent of the duty is uncertain: cf. Cosmo Innes Sc. Legal Antiq. II. 205, Skene Celtic Scotland III. 232. 1127 Lawrie Early Chart. 60.
