BADLINS, adj. Out of health, poorly, ailing, but not to the same extent as is conveyed by the word “badly.” (Given in E.D.D. Suppl. for s.Sc. but on doubtful authority.)Bnff.2 1932:
“I hear yir wife's badly.” “Ay, she's been badlins kin' aff an' on this twa month, bit she's some better eynoo.”
