She . . . said tae her mother she was sick, an' thocht she was gaun tae spue, and wad she bring her a baishin.
Gall. 1824 MacTaggart Gallov. Encycl. 39:
Baishen — A bason [sic]; a vessel for holding anything, commonly meal.
Gall.(D) 1901 Trotter Gall. Gossip 137:
She even got a tin baeshin for him tae spue in whun he cam drunk.
