BAIRNBUND, BERNBUND, adj. (See quots.) [′bɛrn-, ′bern′bʌnd]Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
Bernbund, of a woman; hindered by having a child to take care of.
Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.:
Bairnbund, confined to the house on account of having to attend to a child.

[Meaning prob. due to Norse barnbunden, id. Bairn, bern, are L.Sc.]
