BARDUGH, n. “A donkey's pannier with falling bottom” (Uls. 1880 W. H. Patterson Gl. Ant. and Dwn.). [′bɑrdʌx]Uls.2 1933:
Bardugh. One of a pair of wickerwork panniers or creels with hinged bottoms, for convenience of discharging contents, used by being slung on either side of a donkey. It is known throughout the nine counties of Ulster.
