BEMANG, v. “To hurt, to injure; to overpower” (n.Sc. 1808 Jam.). Examples of pa.p. only to be found. In sense of overpower, not known to our correspondents.Sc. 1803 Scott Minstrelsy Sc. Border III. 363:
