BENN, BEND, n.2 The knot of the cord binding every alternate net on the top and lower bawk.Mry.4 1933:
Benn, bend. The knot of the cord binding the stopper to the messenger rope. The stopper is the rope which connects bottom of net to messenger rope and the latter is the rope under the nets by which they are guided from the boat.
