BERSKET, adj. Stale, unpleasant.Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928):
A b[ersket] taste denotes the taste of something which has been kept too long.
Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.:
Bersket, having a bitter taste.

[Jak. suggests a connection with Norse brisken, bitter, harsh. Cf. Eng. brisk and Sc. Barsk, Bask, harsh, husky.]
