[Cf. n.Eng. bildert, a term of contempt (see E.D.D.). Prob. of same origin as Bilder,n. Bilder(t) occurs in D.O.S.T. (1638) meaning a kind of horse. N.E.D. gives bilder obs. = a nag and quotes from Levins Manip. 71 (1570) and Urquhart Rabelais i. xii. I. 48 (1653).]
