BIRNMAN, n. The man at a mill whose duty it was to carry corn or meal.Bnff. 1902 J. Grant Agric. in Bnffsh. 150 Years Ago 19:
One-twelfth of all the corn taken to the mill remained as multure to the miller for the grinding, and as licks or goupens or sequels to the birnman and other servants who assisted.
