BLEGA, n. 1. “White vein, whitish streak or spot in a rock-formation” (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)).
2. “A sort of soft stone which is used as a dye, and gives a sort of buff colour” (Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.).
3. “A species of pure white rock-moss, scraped off and used in dyeing; it gives a very light colour, whitish with a yellowish-reddish tinge” (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)).
