BLOTCH, v. As in St.Eng., except in the senses: (1) “to blot, i.e. stain with ink, etc.” (Bnff.2, Abd.22, Kcb.9 1935). N.E.D. says this sense is “common in Scotl. and north of Eng.”; (2) to blot (out), delete. Known to Abd.22, Kcb.9 1935.(1) Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.:
A've blotch't ma copy-buik.
(2) s.Sc. 1857 H. S. Riddell Psalms cviii. 13:
Let his affspring be snegget aff; an' in the ganæratian folloin' thair næme be blotchet owt.

[Blotch, n., is St.Eng. The form is prob. due to confusion between the words blot and botch.]
