The nexten pledge that my love gaed me It was a belt wi' blours three; The first was sin, and the second shame, And last of all great misery.

[Perhaps a corruption of Gael. blàr, a white spot, a patch (Welsh blawr, grey), but cf. Bloar, to cover with blots.]
