As I gaed owre Bottle-brig, Bottle-brig brak; Though ye guess a' day, Ye winna guess that. — The ice. In Lanarkshire alone would this enigma have its full effect, the words Bottle-brig being liable to be confounded with Bothwell Bridge, there popularly called Boddle Brig.
