BOUGIL, BOUGILL, n. Bugle, trumpet. This form of bugle is now obs. in St.Eng.Sc. 1725 Ramsay T. T. Misc. (1733) 236:
Then furth he drew his trusty glaive, While thousands all arround, Drawn frae their sheaths glanst in the sun, And loud the bougills sound.
