CLAUTIE-SCONE, Clooty-scone, n. comb.
†1. “A species of coarse bread, made of oatmeal and yeast” (Knr. 1825 Jam.2).
†2. “A cake that is not much kneaded, but put to the fire in a very wet state” (Lnk. Ib.).
3. “A scone, the dough of which is cooked slowly for hours, then rolled very thinly and baked on a girdle. Good invalid fare” (Bch. 1929 (per Abd.1), clooty-scone).
