1. adj. “Pert” (Fif. 1909 Colville 128; Kcb.9 1937).Ags. 1853 W. Blair Chron. of Aberbrothock xv.:

2. n. “A pert, sharp-tongued girl” (Ayr.4 1928). Known to Bnff.2, Ags.11937.Ags. 1822 A. Balfour Farmers' Three Daughters II. 21:
