COCKERDECOSIE, adv. Also cockertie-coozie (Abd. 1950 Evening Express (5 April)), cocksie-couzie (m.Sc. 1975). In phr. to ride cockerdecosie, to ride on someone's shoulders (Abd.22 1936). Given in Jam.2 (1825) for Mearns as synonymous with cockerdehoy (see Cockertie-hooie). “In use in the parish of Kinneff (Mearns) into the present [20th] century” (M.L.A.). Also used as a n., a pick-a-back (Id.).
