1. v. “To take a long draught or pull of any liquid” (Slk. (Ettr. For.) 1825 Jam.2).

2. n. A draught (Ib.). Also fig.Slk. 1822 Hogg Perils of Man II. 101:
I'll get a cooke o' the air o' heaven again.

[According to Jam., this is the same word as Cowk, q.v.]
