DELLO(W), n. A small patch of cultivated ground (Ork. 1845 Stat. Acc.2 XV. 96; 1866 Edm. Gl.; 1929 Marw.). [′dɛlo]Ork. c.1893 W. R. Mackintosh Peat-fires 248:
This place was once the site of a human dwelling or “dellow.” The walls, or the remains of the walls, of the house and “yards” are distinctly visible at the present day.
