DRUSEL, v. To sprinkle salt on fish (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928); Sh.10 1950); esp “to dash salt over new landed herring, as they are laid in the farlen [gutting-trough], to keep them fresh while they are being gutted” (Sh. 1914 Angus Gl.).
