A variety of trout, termed the Duchess Ann, after Ann, Duchess of Hamilton [17th cent.], by whom it was imported from England, is found in the lower parts of the river [Clyde]. . . . It is of silvery hue outside, with bright scarlet spots and cuts red, growing to a large size.
