EENACH, Enich, n. The grease which permeates sheep's wool, the natural grease in wool (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 43, eenach; Abd.2 1943). [′inəx]Abd. 1915 H. Beaton Back o' Benachie 20:
The grease from it [wool] was called “enich,” and acted like soap for the washing, very little manufactured soap being used then.Abd.1 1931:
