ERUCTION, n. A violent outburst (Sh.10, Cai.9, Abd.27, Per. (per Fif.17), m.Lth.1, Rxb.4 1950). Also †erruction.Gall. 1824 MacTaggart Gallov. Encycl. 82:
This minute was a bullierag, And that a blue erruction; At length did burst the meikle bag Which caused the destruction O' the spiel that day.
Ib. 305:
Up aloft quick they drave, causing sic an erruction.

[The form is the same as Eng. eruction, an eructing, belching, but the word is phs. to be associated rather with Ruction, q.v.]
