FAROUCHIE, adj. Savage, cruel (Ayr. 1825 Jam.).Sc.(E) 1868 D. M. Ogilvy Willie Wabster's Wooing 16:
She's no farouchie nor furfluther'd.

[Jam. compares Eng. farouche, sullen, Fr. farouche, fierce, but the word is prob. rather a local curtailed form of ferocious. The 1868 quot. is based on Jam.]
