FITLIN, n. Also fitlen (Jak., Angus) feytlin (Edm.). The skin of the back hough of an animal, usually an ox, used for making rivlins, forming a natural heel from its shape and necessitating stitching at the toe only (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.; Sh.11 1951).
