FLASTER, n., v.

I. n. A shake, a sharp jerking movement; a sprinkling.Sc. 1822 Blackwood's Mag. (June) 750:
Ae flaster o' the pepper mug — and then on wi' him on the trencher.

II. v. To flutter, flap, flounder clumsily.Sc. 1830 Wilson Noctes Amb. (1856) III. 4:
As for pyats, and hoodie-craws, and the like, I wud . . . shoot them wi' a gun, as they were flasterin out o' the nest.
