His arms were loosely flightereed, that he had freedome enough to use his staff.
Sc. a.1730 A. Pennecuik Poems (1787) 14:
He flighter'd every arm and leg.
Abd. 1768 A. Ross Helenore 42:
His legs they loos'd, but flighter'd held his hands.

[O.Sc. flichter, id., from 1596. Of doubtful orig. Phs. from Flichter, v. 1., with a sense development somewhat similar to that of Eng. pinion.]
