1. A hook (Rxb. 1942 Zai); “a hook on the end of a peculiar pattern of yard-stick” (Uls. 1880 Patterson Gl.); “something bent in form of a hook” (Uls. 1924 W. Lutton Montiaghisms, gibb).
2. “The curved head of a walking stick” (Uls. 1924 W. Lutton Montiaghisms).
3. Dims. gibbie, gebbie: “a walking-stick, especially one with a crooked or bent head” (Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.; Bwk. 1942 Wettstein). Also gibbie-stick (Sc. 1876 N. & Q. (4th Series) vii. 543; Watson, Wettstein).
