GIGGLEGAWKIE, n. A stupid, awkward person. Cf. Gilly-gawkie.Cai. 1891 D. Stephen Gleanings 59:
A father complained to him in the following terms — “Maister Jolly, yin gigglegawkie, fat ye ca' m' son, . . . tramped 'po' my folpey's feet, and fat do ye think o' that, Maister Jolly?”
