GLAVER, GLAIVER, v., n. Voiced forms of Claver, claiver, v. & n.1, q.v. Jam.6 gives also the forms gilaver and gelaver. Also in n.Eng. dial.

I. v. “To chatter, babble, talk foolishly, gossip” (w., s.Sc. 1887 Jam.; m.Lth.1 1954).

II. n. “An idle, foolish, or gossiping talk or story: also, one who is addicted to such gossip” (w., s.Sc. 1887); an idle, foolish person (m.Lth.1 1954).
