GUESTEN, v. To be entertained as a guest, to lodge (s.Sc. 1825 Jam., obsol.). Arch. Also in Cum. dial.Sc. a.1800 Scott Minstrelsy (1802) I. 187:
But Tobbet Hob o' the Mains had guesten'd in my house by chance.
Sc. 1817 Scott Harold iv. xiv.:
Whoever shall guesten these chambers within.
