GYURD, n. Also gjord, gørd (Jak.). A gift, a present, “that which one gets or receives” (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)); sometimes used ironically, e.g “dis is a gjord” (Jak.), i.e. a mere trifle.Sh. 1899 J. Spence Folk-Lore 219:
Everyene röses the gyurd as he gets it.
