HEMLIBAND, n. Also hiblin-band (Ork. 1929 Marw.). A tether which is bifurcated some distance from the stake to which it is secured so that two animals can be fastened to the same line (Ork. 1929 Marw., Ork. 1957).
[? Met. form from O.N. *helmingar-band, a tether in two halves, but there has been doubtless influence from Humliband.]
