HIDDIE-GIDDIE, adv. Also hiddygiddie. Topsy-turvy, in a confused or giddy state (Lth. 1808 Jam.). Cf. Hirdy Girdy, id. Also found in Nhb. dial.Fif. 1827 W. Tennant Papistry Storm'd 205:
The Main-kirk rang wi' slaps and smites; Pell-mell, thwack! hiddie-giddie!
Sc. 1846 Anon. Muckomachy 46:
