HUSHAPAN, n. Also høshapan (Sh. 1897 J. Jakobsen Sh. Dial. 16); hosapann, høsapan(n) (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)); and, with variant ending, hosapall, -pel, høsapall. A jocular name for the skull or cranium, the head (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.).Sh. 1897 Shetland News (28 Aug.):
Doo haes Him ta tank 'at mi hushapan is no laid in mummie.
