JANNOCK, n. An oatmeal cake; a bannock. Very common in n.Eng. dials. from which Scott may have borrowed it.Sc. 1818 Scott Rob Roy xiv.:
Mattie gae us baith a drap skimmed milk, and ane o' her thick ait jannocks.
