JEANIE, n. Also jeannie. Sc. forms of Eng. jenny, a spinning machine (‡Ayr., Slk. 1959). Also used attrib. in combs. jeanie factory (Ayr. 1795 Stat. Acc.1 XX. 176), — house (Ayr. 1949), a spinning factory. See also Jennie.Ayr. 1795 Stat. Acc.1 VII. 33:
