JOTTERIE, n. Also jottery. Odd jobs, dirty work (Slk. 1825 Jam.; Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.). Also used attrib. in combs.: 1. jotterie-horse, a horse used for all kinds of work (Slk. 1825 Jam.); 2. jotterie-man, an odd-job man (Ib.); 3. jotterie wark, “work of every description such especially as does not belong to any regular servant” (Ib.; Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B., jottery-).2. Slk. 1828 Hogg Shep. Cal. (1874) viii.:
His occupation of jotteryman (as the Laird termed his servant of all work).
