KAMLECK, n. The long-tailed duck, Clangula hyemalis.Rs. 1867 Zoologist II. 674:
These birds, I hear, frequent the Firth every winter during hard weather, the inhabitants being quite familiar with them and calling them "Kamleck's."

[The second syllable suggests Gael. lach, a duck, and the whole may be a corruption of Gael. crannlach, which is applied however to the teal.]
