KENZIE, n. Also kenyie (quoted by Jam. in passage below). A rough fellow. Only found in quot. after 1700 in imitation of Christis Kirk on the Grene.Abd. 1809 J. Skinner Amusements 49:
And a' the kenzies glowr'd to see A bonny kind o' tuilzie Atween them twa. [The 1739 version in Caled. Merc. (1788) 503 has ablachs.]
