KICKER, n.1 A tedder, a machine for spreading out newly-mown hay to facilitate drying (Bnff., Fif., wm. and sm.Sc. 1960).Bnff. 1953 Banffshire Jnl. (21 July):
An old machine, the tedder or as it is known locally the "kicker." Research work has shown that provided the weather is dry, the best time to use this tool is immediately following the mower.
