KLUVIE, n. Also klüvi, klovi, kløv(i). A carpenter's tool with claws for prising out nails, etc. (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), 1914 Angus Gl.), a claw-hammer, the claw of a hammer (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1908 Jak. (1928)). Also in comb. kluvie-hammer, kløv(i)-, a claw-hammer (Ib.). [′kløvi]
