KRANE, n. Also kr(a)eno. A small mussel, Mytilus edulis, which lives on the rocks on the beach, sometimes close to high-water mark (Ork. 1929 Marw., 1954 Ork. Misc. II. 56, kraeno). [′kren(o)]Ork. 1929 Marw.:
