Atifer, shame; in phrase, “I wad think an atifer to do that.”

[“This appears to be a corrupted use of the No[rw]. attyver, prep., in the phrase given by Aasen, gjera attyver seg, to do something which one comes to regret. Prob. the Ork. phrase orig. ran ‘I wad think atifer doing that' — i.e. think back over it again with regret or shame” (Marw.).]
