KUDDEE DOOR, n.comb. Also cuddie-door. A doorway in the gable of a byre through which the manure is carried. “So soon as the byre is cleaned the aperture is built up again” (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.).Sh. 1836 Gentleman's Mag. II. 589:
Da vennal itt ran oot anonder da kuddee door o' Andrew o' Digran's byar.

[Orig. somewhat uncertain. Prob. a variant dim. form of Goit, n.1, q.v., O.N., Icel. gátt, a door-opening, but the phonology is irregular.]
