LIBERTINE, n. In King's College, Aberdeen: a student who had no bursary or scholarship (Sc. 1787 J. Beattie Scotticisms 16).Abd. 1757 Lord Glenbervie Diaries (Bickley 1928) II. 363:
I was matriculate as a Libertine in the College and University of King's College.
Abd. 1795 Stat. Acc.1 XXI. App. 89:
The students at this College since the period of its foundation have been distinguished into two classes: 1st, the bursars; 2nd, the free scholars, who are known by the name of libertines.
