LINCOME, n. Also linkome, -um. Sc. variant forms of Lincoln, in comb. lincome twine, (1) a cloth of fine thread woven in Lincoln or in imitation of Lincoln-made fabric. Only poet.; (2) given as “pack thread” (Abd. 1825 Jam.) but?(1) Sc. 1725 Ramsay T.-T. Misc. (1876) II. 175:
A sark made of the linkome twine, A gay green cloak that will not stenzie.
Bch. 1804 W. Tarras Poems 70:
Thae days I was right hale an' fier, Aneath the linkum twine.
Sc. 1827 W. Motherwell Minstrelsy 19:
The doublet which was over that Was o' the lincome twine.
