Sc. usages: 1. The young of the skate, Raja batis (Mry.2 1870–1946); 2. in combs.: (1) grey ling, the full-grown coal-fish, Gadus virens (Sc. 1806 P. Neill Tour 209); (2) ling-fool, the Manx shearwater, Puffinus puffinus (Sh. 1955 L. Venables Birds, etc. 246).
