†LOOM, v.2 Also lume (Jam.). To warm, heat, dry off, esp. to dry corn in a pot over a fire instead of in a kiln (Sh. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 139, 1908 Jak. (1928)). Hence loomin burstin, drying corn (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.). See Burstin.
